Resistance to Change

Why do people resist change. I’ve often heard from people managers that “people are resisting change”. The next question I would ask is “Why?” People have valid reasons why they “resist” change. Here are some of the most common ones: 1. Attachment to old ways 3. Fear of failure 4. Perceived threat 5. Loss of control 6. Reduced freedom 7. Diminished power 8. Threat to job security 9. Too much uncertainty 10. Climate of mistrust 11. Unclear benefits 12. Forced change 13. Concern for co-workers 14. Work overload 15. Disruption 16. Poor communication 17.
